What CapCut is

CapCut describes itself as an AI-powered photo and video editor. It comes as a desktop app, an online editor and a mobile app, and you can try it online for free with no credit card. Its site lists many tools, including templates, auto captions, text to speech, an AI video generator that turns text, images or keyframes into videos, and Video Studio, which CapCut says builds a video from scratch after a quick chat with its AI.

CapCut's own guide to captions for Instagram says its desktop editor offers auto captions in over 20 languages, and that you can set a 9:16 ratio so a video fits Instagram.

CapCut Pro is the paid plan. CapCut's help center says its price varies by region, device and available promotions, with no fixed global price. To see the price for your region, log in and click Upgrade on the web, or check the Pro option in the app. CapCut says Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly plan and both include 100GB of cloud storage. We give no CapCut price here because CapCut publishes none. We checked on 8 October 2026, and plans and prices can change.

What ReelTempo does

ReelTempo is built for one job: turning your business's own phone footage into reels for Instagram and Facebook. You upload videos and photos. It finds the moments worth using, cuts a short reel to music, puts words on screen and drafts a caption. You review every reel, change any words or swap a shot, then post it.

It only ever uses footage you upload. It never generates people or scenes. On Starter you download and post by hand. On Studio you can post an approved reel with one button and have reels made ahead to a weekly number. Nothing is posted without your approval.

Who should choose CapCut

CapCut is a strong choice in many cases. It suits you if:

You enjoy editing and want to control every cut and effect.
You want templates and effects to work from.
You make video for more than Instagram and Facebook reels.
You want to start without paying, and the free tools cover what you need.
You want AI tools that create images or video from text, which ReelTempo does not do.

If you already edit in CapCut and the reels get made each week, there may be little reason to change.

Who should choose ReelTempo

ReelTempo suits owners who have footage of their business but no time to sit in an editor. You do not choose clips or line up cuts. You watch a finished draft, fix anything that is wrong and post it. On Studio it shows plays and reach for posted reels. It does not reply to comments, manage messages or post to TikTok or YouTube, and it does not promise views, followers or visits.

Using both

The two can sit side by side. You could use ReelTempo for regular reels and open an editor for a special video you want to build by hand.
