How do I add footage to ReelTempo?

Open Media, press "Upload media", then drop your files into the box or tap it to choose them. ReelTempo analyzes each video and photo. When the line at the top of Media says "Ready: make a reel", your footage can go into reels.

Steps

1. Open Media from the menu. You can also press "Add footage" when Home asks you for more.
2. Press "Upload media". This opens the "Add media" page.
3. On a computer, drag videos and photos onto the box. On a phone, tap the box and pick your files. Videos can be .mov, .mp4 or .m4v. Photos can be .jpg, .png, .webp or .heic.
4. On an iPhone, ticking a video only selects it. Tap "Add" at the top right of the picker to send it.
5. Wait for the upload bar to finish. Leave the page open while it uploads.
6. Back on Media, a line shows "Analysing your footage" with how many files are done. You can leave the page while this runs.
7. When it says "Ready: make a reel", press "Create reel" if you want one now. Otherwise ReelTempo uses the footage in the reels it makes for you.

Your files sit in Media under the "Videos" and "Photos" tabs. The "What to film next" tab suggests footage that would help your next reels.

What footage works

Short, steady, well-lit clips that show what happens at your business. A mix of close and wide shots gives ReelTempo more to choose from. Only upload footage you have permission to use.

If something goes wrong

• "Nothing came through from your photos." On an iPhone this usually means "Add" wasn't tapped. Tap the box and pick the files again.
• A file didn't finish uploading. Press "Try again". It picks up where it stopped and doesn't re-send what already arrived.
• A file couldn't be read from this device. It is probably still in iCloud or another cloud folder. Let it finish downloading to your phone, then add it again.
• "Already in your library, not added again". That file is already uploaded. Nothing is lost.
• Footage is missing from reels. Check the "Needs attention" tab in Media. It lists footage that was set aside, with the reason for each.
