How do I change the words on a reel?

Open the reel and press "Edit reel". Type over any line in the shot list, or change the text in the "Caption" box. Your changes save as you type. Press the button at the bottom that starts with "Done" to put the new words on the video.

Steps

1. Open Reels, then open the reel you want to change.
2. Press "Edit reel". The editor shows the shot list, with each line of words beside the shot it sits on.
3. Click into a line and type your own words. A counter beside it shows how many words the line has against its limit. To have no words on that shot, leave the box empty.
4. Scroll down to "Caption" (the text under your post) and edit it the same way.
5. Watch the note at the bottom. It reads "Your changes save themselves as you type." and then shows when your changes are saved.
6. Press the button at the bottom right that starts with "Done". ReelTempo puts your words onto the video.
7. Back on the reel's page, a bar says "Updating your reel with your changes…". Approving waits until they are on.

Swap a shot

Press "Swap" beside a shot to see other shots that could go there. Press "Use this" on the one you want. "Show me more" finds more shots like it. The reel stays the same length.

You can also drag a shot by its handle to move it, then press "Regenerate" to rebuild the video. Lines move straight away.

Hashtags

The hashtags at the end of the caption come from your settings. Use "Change them in Settings" under the caption to change them for future reels.

If something goes wrong

• A line is marked "Needs your words". ReelTempo couldn't write a line for that shot that passes its checks. Type your own, or leave it empty.
• The word counter turns red. The line has too many words. Shorten it. Any other problem with a line shows in red under it.
• "This shot changed" shows under a line. You swapped the shot. Check the words still fit it.
• Your changes didn't reach the video. The reel's page says so. Try again from there.
